Justin Timberlake may have made his name by bringing sexy back, but his sassy reappearance can't hold a candle to the return of Push Square’s coveted Game of the Month award. Alright, so it may have been seven months since we last named a winner, but we’d appreciate it if you just pretended that we’d been announcing these religiously since June. You’re all stars.
February was a surprisingly packed month this year, with numerous heavy hitters like Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance all vying for our nonexistent trophy. In the end, though, we decided to take the controversial route, and plop a rosette on Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch’s puffed out chest.
The game may have released in January in North America, but a delay just about pushed it into February in Europe. And, let’s be honest, even though it may have only just scraped into our poll by the skin of its cel-shaded teeth, it deserves every scrap of praise that it gets. As far as we’re concerned, Namco Bandai’s delightful JRPG is already a candidate for Game of the Year.
Reviewer Katy Ellis explained why you shouldn’t be a Drippy and play the title in her full review: “Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a masterpiece, lovingly crafted by both teams at Level-5 and Studio Ghibli,” she said. “The narrative may not seem particularly groundbreaking at first, but this is an adventure that's unlike any other.”
Honourable mentions go out to Chimpact (no, really) and Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires, which all scored favourably in our reviews. What was your Game of the Month for February? Let us know courtesy of the comments section and poll below.

I'm 50 hours in and still going strong. Ni No Kuni is flat out amazing.
Ni No Kuni is great but Sly Cooper's return has taken the cake for me.
Persona 4? In Europe I mean
Anyway for US I'll be glad to pick Ninja gaiden sigma plus 2 as the best of february
i got tomb raider today, just completed it if its not marchs game of the month i'll eat my hat.
Ni no Kuni is on my to-get list. Maybe this week or next.
But I was wondering, I searched up "Legasista" hoping to find a review, but the page is not filled out. It says TBA for release dates even though it released last year...
Just wanted to point that out, not annoy anyone or be rude
@LDXD trust me you wont regret it, its out this tuesday i say BUY IT!!!
I also have Ni No Kuni sitting here in the wrap. Scared to open it and have my soul sucked away for weeks. Glad to know it will be amazing when I do finally take the plunge.
Also, can't wait to see the battle for GotM in March. Tomb Raider, Ascension, and Infinite. Going to be an amzing month.
Still haven't bought Ni No Kuni, as the new Naruto game is coming out soon and I want to fully enjoy that game first. Plus the fact that Ni No Kuni is so long makes me wanna avoid it till I have more free time.
i didn't get any games this month i'm saving for Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 but i played the demo of Ni No Kuni and i loved it so i'm definitely going to pick it up
@TOMBOY25 That was quick!
@get2sammyb i have a bad habbit, if a game has a good story i cant stop playing it until its finished i did the same with batman:ac MGR(story not great but its amazing gameplay made up for it) and some others.
I want this game to make so much money. I want Studio Ghibli to be well rewarded for this decision.
@Squiggle55 This is exactly how I feel.
If it had played like a Zelda game instead of an rpg, I might have given it a second look, might of, but since it didn't, played the demo once-beautiful overworld map. That is all.
