Hair we go

Considering former Capcom employee Hideki Kamiya’s, er, outspoken nature, we expected the original Devil May Cry director to have a few choice words for Ninja Theory’s reboot – but he’s actually rather fond of it. "I've been getting a lot of DmC: Devil May Cry tweets lately,” the Bayonetta creator revealed on Twitter. “DmC is a very unique title, and I honestly hope that people enjoy it."

Clearly in a jovial mood, the luminary added: "I am also happy to see all of your messages, even though the first Devil May Cry came out 12 years ago. That being said, DMC has been on its own path for a long time now and asking my opinion of things is pointless. My only opinion is that people continue to love the Devil May Cry series, both fans and its creators alike. It's yours now.”

Kamiya’s praise was spotted by the Cambridge-based developer behind the reboot, who felt it appropriate to share the love. "Thank you for your kind words,” the studio replied. “We are of course huge fans of your work and can't wait to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.”

While it's heartwarming to see creative people getting along, we can't help but feel that Ninja Theory should have double checked its facts before responding – Kamiya isn’t working on the Metal Gear spin-off, after all.
