Don't blink

It looks like Dead Space 3’s jump scares will not conclude once you reach the solace of the title’s credits, because developer Visceral Games is currently working on a slice of post-release content for the survival horror shooter. Steve Papoutsis, the game’s producer, revealed the news in an official EA blog post. “The team is hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks,” he teased. “We're not saying much, yet – but think 'disturbing' to get your imaginations going."

Papoutsis also revealed that you’ll unlock four additional modes after the completing the title's main campaign: New Game +, Classic Mode, Pure Survival, and Hardcore. As you’d expect, New Game + brings all of your equipment from a previous playthrough forward, while Classic Mode is single-player only and adjusts the aiming mechanics to make the sequel ‘feel’ more like the original Dead Space. Finally, Pure Survival limits the number of ammo and health drops you’ll find, while Hardcore confines you to just one life.

And, no, you won’t be able to cheat and return to a previous save point in the latter option – you get one life to complete the entire game. We’d rather scratch our throat with a rusty saw than attempt to beat that. Shudder.
