Flying off the digital shelves

We thought the late announcement of Battlefield 3 Premium would seriously hinder its commercial impact, but it seems like the service has been a huge success for EA. Speaking at a financial conference overnight, the publisher revealed that the package has “over 1.3 million subscriptions”, which is a significant improvement over its previous tally.

The premium service rewards subscribers with early access to expansion packs and DLC, along with other in-game items and perks. We suppose it’s pretty worthwhile if you’re really into Battlefield 3.
