Put 'em up

On the eve of E3, Atlus has officially announced Zeno Clash II. The sequel to the first-person brawler – which is due out at some point in 2013 – is in development at Chilean studio ACE Team.

In it, you’ll play as a character named Ghat who will be free to explore an enormous open-world. Changes to the sequel include improved visuals, in addition to new weapons and items.

The first-person brawler mechanics will also be refined, with the lock-on component receiving most attention. Apparently, there’ll be new RPG features too, as well as online co-op.

ACE Team co-founder Andres Bordeu said of the sequel:

The world of Zenozoik is one of wild dreams and wilder nightmares. This is part of the reason we are working on Zeno Clash 2, to give players the opportunity to explore Zenozoik with a friend via online cooperative multiplayer, turning those moments of wonder and awe into a shared adventure.

We will make certain that going back and forth between solo and cooperative play preserves the consistency and impact of the narrative experience, while still allowing friends easily drop in and out of the game's fulfilling exploration and visceral melee combat.
