One in the eye

Spanish developer Tragnarion Studios has announced a brand new shooter set for release on PSN this summer. Entitled Scourge: Outbreak, the sci-fi adventure puts you in “control of Echo Squad, an elite group of mercenaries hired to deal a decisive blow against the power-hungry Nogari Corporation".

In order to help you deal with the title’s “seemingly insurmountable” alien and military foes, you’ll need to team up online in the shooter’s co-op mode. The game features four playable characters, each with their own “agenda and influence on the story”. Presumably you’ll need to play through the campaign several times to reveal the full narrative.

In addition to the online co-op mode, Scourge: Outbreak also features an eight-player competitive deathmatch component. This boasts multiple playlists, and a full XP stat tracking system.

It all sounds fairly fleshed out, but with the shooter market already so crowded, we’re not sure how much demand there is for a game like Scourge: Outbreak.
