Paddle master

Sony’s not forgotten about PlayStation Vita’s augmented reality features. At last week’s GDC it showed off a brand new tech demo called AR Hockey.

Unlike previous augmented reality titles on Vita, AR Hockey works without a marker card using Sony’s new Smart AR technology. Players must stand around a rectangle surface and physically move from left to right in order to control a paddle in a Pong style game.

It all looks rather simple – and apparently Sony has no plans to release it publically yet – but that AR Hockey can work without a marker is impressive, and something we’d like to see more of in the future.
