PSM3 magazine speculates that Sony is targeting high performance once again with the PS4.

PSM3 magazine's the latest publication to jump on the bandwagon. The magazine speculates that early signs already point to Sony's next console being "quite a bit more powerful" than the next XBOX, though it's unclear of the publication's sources for the claim.

Additionally, the magazine states that the next XBOX will beat the PS4 to the market, but not by much β€” a sentiment that seems to be reflected throughout all of the recent rumours we've heard about Sony's next system.

Shuhei Yoshida laughed off any PlayStation 4 speculation in an interview with CVG this afternoon, claiming that the company is still "very excited about the PlayStation 3". Asked specifically about the PS4, Yoshida chuckled and said, "I don't know what you're talking about".

We think there's a good chance that Sony will go all out with the next PlayStation system, targeting longevity and high specification performance once again. As such, it's certainly possible that the PS4 could outpace the next XBOX from a technical perspective. But Sony needs to ensure that the PS4 is also easy to develop for, something that cost the PS3 dearly in its early years.

Thankfully, a glance at the PS Vita β€” which is widely considered to be a breeze to work on β€” indicates that the platform holder has learnt its lesson.
