Insomniac Games Is Done With Resistance

Despite Insomniac Games pledging its future to multiplatform development following the release of Resistance 3, we always held out hope that the long-term Sony partner would come back to the franchise in the future

Resistance 3's moving on from the Resistance franchise.

But nuh-huh, Insomniac's gaffer Ted Price has revealed to VG247 that the developer is done with the alternate history franchise. We wont be making any more Resistances, he told the website. Short and simple: like a dagger through our heart.

The next Resistance title, Resistance: Burning Skies, will be on PlayStation Vita and is being handled by PlayStation Move Heroes developer, Nihilistic. There's so much fiction and lore in the Resistance franchise that we'd love to explore — but with Insomniac not at the helm, we honestly think that's pretty much the end of the series for the time being. It's a shame: Resistance 3 was one of the best shooters of 2011 but it dropped like a rock at retail.
