SEGA's promised that Sonic The Hedgehog: Episode 2 will feel closer to the original Sonic games.

While we praised SEGA's intentions to return to Sonic's roots with the episodic Sonic The Hedgehog 4 series, we felt a little letdown by the first episode. It sure looked and sounded like a classic Sonic title, but it didn't feel like one.

Thankfully that's a problem that SEGA's keen to address with the inevitable Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2. Chatting with GameSpot, SEGA Digital Brand Manager Ken Balough revealed that the company has listened to feedback (hurrah!) and is working on a new graphics and physics engine for the upcoming digital download.

"There's going to be a lot of really positive changes and we think the fans are going to be really happy," said Balough, going into the specifics of Sonic's motions. Apparently the blue blur will no longer stick to walls, or "uncurl" when going up hills. "They may not sound like a big deal, but when you're playing Sonic and you're so used to the way the Genesis [Mega Drive! - Ed] games felt, it's a big step to get closer to that Genesis feel." Which is pretty much exactly what we want.

Ken also revealed that both Tails and Metal Sonic will show up in Episode 2. We're cool with the latter, but, Tails — really? Just don't make him talk, ok SEGA?
