Ed Boon claims NetherRealm is 'taking a break' from making Mortal Kombat.

Despite NetherRealm's recent Mortal Kombat reboot selling over 3 million copies, and rumours of a PlayStation Vita release rampant, co-creator Ed Boon has revealed that the studio is taking a break from Mortal Kombat to work on "a different project".

We just don't buy it. Interest in Mortal Kombat is at an all-time high, and the developer's taking a break? Whatever. We look forward to Mortal Kombat, erm, 2 in a couple of years time.

Update @ 12:29PM GMT: Turns out we were right after all. Ed Boon has dismissed the hiatus rumours on Twitter, announcing, "NetherRealm is working on MK and non-MK games!" So there you go.
