Sony's been curiously quiet about PlayStation Suite since the PlayStation Vita's announcement, but at a keynote overnight the company announced plans to release a new PlayStation SDK (software development kit) — allowing developers to create PlayStation Vita compatible Android games.
Sony Japan's Kissei Matsumoto briefly demonstrated the system, showing a simple multiplayer shooting game in which one player played on an Xperia Play unit, and another the PlayStation Vita. Sony added that PlayStation-certified tablets will also be compatible.
PlayStation Suite titles will be available from the PlayStation Store. With development kits not going out until November though, we doubt Suite will be prepared in time for Vita's Japanese launch.
Update @ 11:40AM BST: Content distribution will start from Spring 2012.
