Worms Crazy Golf? Yes Please.

Clap Hanz's Everybody's Golf series is one of our favourite PlayStation franchises of all-time, even if it rarely changes with each new iteration. So we always get a little excited when we learn about a brand new, whimsical golf game.

Take Team 17's Worms Crazy Golf, "a brazenly bonkers mixture of classic 2D Worms and hilarious eighteen-hole high jinks". After being rumoured earlier in the year, the British studio has just confirmed the game for the PlayStation Network. It's due out "later this year".

"Who could have known that two of our favourite things would work so well together?” said Team 17's John Dennis. “While probably not an obvious combination, Worms Crazy Golf is an irreverent mash-up of our own turn-based strategy game "Worms" and everyone's favourite turn-based game of ‘hitting little balls with sticks’.”

All of the traditional Worms staples are set to make an appearance in Crazy Golf, including super-sheep and explosives. The game promises to boast three unique eighteen-hole courses, in addition to a range of skill-based challenge modes and a deep social multiplayer component.

"We've had a great deal of fun playing the game in multiplayer during development,” Dennis added, “And with four-player social multiplayer support, it has all the hallmarks of the "Worms" brand: the trash-talking, pressure to make the shot, terribly unhelpful ‘advice’ from opponents, and often hilarious consequences when that risky shot that could have won the game goes terribly wrong. If players get half as much enjoyment out of it as we've already had, then we'll be very, very happy."

Anyone else ridiculously excited about this?
