Just when you thought things were getting back to normal after Sony Computer Entertainment's public apology yesterday morning, Sony Online Entertainment — the division responsible for Free Realms and DC Universe Online — has pulled its services offline, including its websites and Facebook titles.
The company said: "We have had to take the SOE service down temporarily. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion into our systems we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern for us to take the service down effective immediately."
Sigh. This again? SOE's promised further updates throughout the evening. Hopefully it's not serious.
Update @ 22:43BST: According to the Wall Street Journal this is not a second attack, merely an extension to the PSN breach investigation: "We temporarily took down SOE's services as part of our continued investigation into the external intrusion that occurred in April," said Michele Sturdivant, a Sony Online Entertainment spokeswoman. "This is not a second attack."
