Could you imagine if the PSN had been down worldwide as long as it's been down in Japan and parts of Asia? It's pretty unthinkable, right? Sony was required to prove to the Japanese government that it had strengthened its system security before bringing the PSN back online in the region.
Presumably that's all done and dusted now as the service is set to return tomorrow. Asia, like the rest of the world, will still be without the PlayStation Store however.
Sony also announced Japan's 'Welcome Back' package for both the PlayStation 3 and PSP. On PS3 you'll be able to pick up free copies of: Hustle Kings, LocoRoco: Cocoreccho, Echochrome, Wipeout HD and The Last Guy. Not the strongest list in the world, we'll agree.
The PSP offering is a little better, including: What Did I Do To Deserve This My Lord 2, Minna no Sukkiri, Patapon 2, LittleBigPlanet PSP and LocoRoco: Midnight Carnival.
