
But the publisher's vice president, Christian Svensson, has single-handedly shot down many fans' dreams, claiming the game can't be released due to licensing issues.
Responding to a fan inquiry, Svensson responded sharply that "unfortunately Legends isn't going to be able to be up there; it failed an I.P. sweep and a contract check". Svensson offered a deeper explanation, detailing that sometimes Capcom uses intellectual properties and voice acting performances which the company no longer has licenses for. Apparently the company avoids re-releasing titles under these circumstances for fear of historical or future litigation.
Capcom should probably employ Phoenix Wright and get this sorted once and for all.
