Sony's New Handheld Could Release Sooner Than You Think.

The report clashes with statements made by SCEA boss Jack Tretton earlier in the year, who stated that a worldwide launch was very unlikely.

But the site reports that deadlines on game development have been set for the end of summer, with a release date locked for the autumn. If true, the report would probably support the reasoning behind Sony's project restructuring at its UK studios. If these games are being developed to a tighter deadline now, then studios will need all the resources they can get hold of.

Sony's never done a simultaneous worldwide hardware launch. This report makes that sound like a possibility, which is very exciting. Guess we'll find out at E3.
