Looks like Sony's premium racing franchise, Gran Turismo, has brought home the bacon once again, with updated shipment figures from developers Polyphony Digital pitching the latest entry of the series well beyond the 6 million figure milestone
The numbers count up until the end of December 2010. Gran Turismo 5 launched late last year amidst much controversy and drama.
Europe got the bulk of the copies, receiving a whopping 3.97 million units. Japan and North America got 600k and 1.58 million respectively. Another 230,000 went out to Asia. The franchise as a total has shipped an amazing 63.15 million units to date.
