We Imagine Virtually All Sony's First-Party Releases Will Utilise 3D From Now On.

What with the PlayStation 3 now supporting 3D movies and games, the upgrade's looking more and more justified. Just to hammer home the point, SCE's revealed that they have 3D functionality in the works for over 20 first-party games. What's more, Sony claims that there are over 50 3D games in development for the PlayStation 3 platform. Those worrying about content support can put their concerns to the side, this is happening.

SCEE's studio director Mick Hocking told Develop: "Overall we have more than fifty titles currently being converted into 3D, and this number if growing fast. Some of them are massive names. That's a really, really good sign that the industry is behind our unique message that 3D is a key element in the future of home consoles."

Interestingly for game developers and publishers, Hocking furthered that adding 3D support only increases production by two-percent. That's not a lot of effort for an extra bullet-point on the game's box.
