Many of wondered how Telltale's traditionally cartoon vibes will translate into the dinosaur world. The answer? They won't.
In an interview with Joystiq , Telltale's design director said the company are going to take a new direction, and don't want to be pigeon-holed into just doing cartoon content.
With Jurassic Park, weve wanted to kind of step out and do something thats cinematically much more serious.
You know, we feel like were getting pigeonholed a little bit as a company that makes funny cartoon games about talking animals, whereas really what we think of ourselves as is a company that makes games about cinema.
We want to explore some different territory. How is the gameplay supporting the tension of the scene, and what kind of tension is it? How is the game paced? And so youre going to find all of that stuff in the Jurassic Park series.
The developers insist that Jurassic Park will be less about "thinky puzzles", and more focused on action and tension.
You can definitely expect tension elements, lets say. Whether theyre action or, well, there are a lot of ways to do that. I think therell be a liberal mix of stuff in that game.
The first episode will release later this year, kicking off a full season of Jurassic Park goodness. Not sure what to think about this. Could be amazing. Most important thing is that Telltale has this episodic thing nailed.
