The sequel is being developed by Candian house Blue Castle Games. Since the original was developed in-house at Capcom Japan, why the switch to a Western developer? Producer Shinsaku Ohara told CVG, the change was simple as Capcom "wanted to do it better for a Western audience this time." Shinsaku later added that the original game "was built in a very Japanese style."

Dead Rising 2's already looking to maintain much of the original game's charm, while glossing over many of the flaws that appeared in the original. We're just wondering whether the game can retain the original's heart without the problems.
