The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered

The start of the year is usually a pretty quiet time for new game releases, but 2024's already proving to be a winner with a surprisingly strong start.

As always, we've been busy putting together a list of some particularly noteworthy physical releases headed to PlayStation 5 over the next few weeks, as well as a larger selection of games that could well be worth a look too. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown - 18th January

The first new major installment in the Prince of Persia series since 2010 arrives on 18th January:

Dash into a stylish and thrilling action-adventure platformer set in a mythological Persian world where the boundaries of time and space are yours to manipulate. Play as Sargon and evolve from sword-wielding prodigy to extraordinary legend as you master acrobatic combat and unlock new Time Powers and unique super abilities.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered - 19th January

The Last of Us Part II Remastered will let players relive Ellie and Abby's story once more from 19th January.

Built for the PS5, The Last of Us Part II Remastered enhances the original PS4 game in ways not possible before. Visual performance now includes native 4K output in Fidelity Mode, 1440p upscaled to 4K in Performance Mode, and an Unlocked Framerate option for TVs that support VRR. The Last of Us Part II Remastered also includes improved load times to let you jump right back into the action. Descriptive Audio and Speech to Vibrations have also been added to The Last of Us Part II Remastered's suite of accessibility features.

Tekken 8 - 26th January

Bandai Namco's fighting series evolves once more with Tekken 8, coming to PS5 towards the end of the month.

Promising "ground-breaking new features, breathtakingly detailed character models and dramatic environments," Bandai Namco is keen to highlight the fact that Tekken 8 will utilise Unreal Engine 5 to take full advantage of the PS5's power. It's being teased as one of the most "visually stunning and immersive" titles in the fighting genre to date, which is quite the statement to make.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - 26th January

Iconic heroes Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII have escaped from the dystopian city Midgar and are now in pursuit of Sephiroth, the vengeful swordsman from Cloud’s past who was thought to be dead.
