Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

We've made it to the end of yet another year and, as is often the case for the December-January period, things have started to quieten down a touch in the new games department. Despite this, there are still a fair few new titles that we think are worth checking out.

As always, we've been busy putting together a list of some particularly noteworthy physical releases headed to PlayStation 5 over the next few weeks, as well as a larger selection of games that could well be worth a look. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition - 5th December

Cyberpunk 2077's Ultimate Edition arrives on 5th December, giving players the chance to experience the original story as well as a new spy-thriller adventure in the Phantom Liberty expansion.

The release includes the base game – as well as every update ever released for it, including the free Update 2.0 which overhauled many of the game’s systems – and also contains all free DLCs and the Phantom Liberty expansion. A physical option is available at retail if you want to add it to your collection, or if you're experiencing the game for the first time:

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria - 5th December

From North Beach Games, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is the latest game inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.

It's a survival-meets-crafting title that follows the Dwarves as they embark on a new adventure to reclaim their legendary home of Moria beneath the Misty Mountains. You'll need to join forces to survive, craft, build and explore the mines, keeping an eye out for dangers along the way.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - 7th December

Launching on 7th December, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person, open-world, action-adventure game set in the Western Frontier of Pandora.

You'll be playing as a Na'vi who's been abducted by the human militaristic corporation known as the RDA. Fifteen years later, you're free, but find yourself a stranger in your birthplace; you'll need to reconnect with your lost heritage, discover what it truly means to be Na'vi, and join other clans to protect Pandora from the RDA.

The Gold Edition includes the full game and the season pass. Pre-orders are open now:

The Last of Us Part II Remastered - 19th January

The Last of Us Part II Remastered will let players relive Ellie and Abby's story once more from 19th January.

You probably don't need us to tell you about this one, but what you should know is that a physical disc version is in the works as part of the fancy WLF Edition. Pre-orders haven't appeared for it just yet, but we'll make sure to add the links you need right here should they go live over the next couple of weeks...

Tekken 8 - 26th January

Bandai Namco's fighting series evolves once more with Tekken 8, coming to PS5 towards the end of the month.

Promising "ground-breaking new features, breathtakingly detailed character models and dramatic environments," Bandai Namco is keen to highlight the fact that Tekken 8 will utilise Unreal Engine 5 to take full advantage of the PS5's power. It's being teased as one of the most "visually stunning and immersive" titles in the fighting genre to date, which is quite the statement to make.
