PS Stars: How to Solve the Hit Play/1994 Campaign

Any idea how long we have to play each game?

If you have to play all six games then this one's a sneaky PS5 exclusive collectible

Also tbh it seems pretty stupid and a waste of energy and bandwidth to incentivize hundreds of thousands of players every couple months to download hundreds of gigs of games just to start them up for a few minutes. They should make it less restrictive on what you have to play

@get2sammyb I only ask because I Returnal for over 2 hours last night and it never counted.

Also as a side note. I redownloaded Street Fighter V and got that reward without even booting up the game

so you dont get any points for doing this? just some digital tat

@Clogalis I booted up Death Stranding to the title and immediately quit. So like 30 seconds. That was long enough for it to register in the app (which updated immediately). But last night I was playing Deathloop for an hour or so before the October checkin play any game registered.

So I think it's totally inconsistent how long it takes. Just booting the game should be enough, if it doesn't register in the app after a few hours, try booting it again. No need to actually play a game you don't want to.

All of these have been on plus/extra, right? I’m not sure about heavy rain, but think it might have been given free.

It should be pointed out that all six games are available to stream with a extra/premium plus membership.

@IndoorEnthusiast It should be pointed out that none of them would pop for me streaming. I had to install them, then they all worked.

@D34DL1N3R I’m having the opposite problem the four games that I streamed have all popped and the two that were installed haven’t popped.

@IndoorEnthusiast I'm about ready to just completely forget about the dumb program. Neither the Returnal or Death Stranding one will pop no matter how many times I've played them. Also, not a single one of the fighting games will pop regardless if downloaded or streaming.

@D34DL1N3R I got the one for SF V. I just DLed it. Didnt even boot it up.

All worked fine for me.

Just waited until the game was playable, loaded it up, played for 30 seconds or so and voila.

I also found refreshing the app by swiping down made it appear faster.

Took me about half an hour to complete whilst I was working from home haha.

Can't get death stranding to unlock, anyone have any ideas?
I have booted the game up a few times played around and still nothing

@Bentleyma I ran Director's Cut version and it worked for me. Unfortunately the Heavy Rain does not work for me for some reason :/

I have played all these games before and platinum most of them. Should I download them again for this? Feels stupid and thoughtless...

FYI that Legacy of Thieves collection does not work. It has to be the native PS4 version. Thought that was weird.

For the life of me I cannot get Heavy Rain one to work. I've been on it for almost 10 minutes now. I've managed to get Uncharted 4 (disc) and Until Dawn to work so far. I do find it annoying as my internet is really slow and just downloading these games feels like a chore. I haven't played Death Stranding yet or Returnal so that I don't mind as I was wanting to play them at some point.

I started Legacy of Thieves ps4 and ps5 version and played it over 15 min, but nothing poped out anyone know how to solve this issue?

Being a trophy completionist, this is unfortunately a no-go for me lol. Can’t be having 0% on my list 🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

@Mikey856 You can delete a game from your trophy list if you are worried about it affecting your completion rate.

@Dadaista same here, Heavy Rain won't pop for me either, all the rest were instant on load up 🤷

@Mikey856 If you have 0% you can go into your trophies and delete the game off there.

@YMM Disappointing if this is true. PS4 users should be able to get the reward by playing the other 5

The Uncharted one doesn’t work with Legacy of Thieves collection which sucks. I had the PS4 version of no4. Got rid of it and bought the collection for PS5

The Uncharted one simply doesn't want to work for me. I tried running it several times on PS5 as well as on PS4. Sucks that I can't get a collectible due to their shoddy system.

How can a ps4 owner complete this one when there's no way to get a ps5 at the moment (at least where I live) to play returnal
I'm stuck I've completed everyone of the campaigns so far apart from this one which is stuck cause I can't complete one game

If you have the premium service you can stream most of these instead of installing them all. Just tested myself and it works.

@thefourfoldroot1 not all, no. I would have had grabbed Returnal/ Death Stranding if it had been on plus previous, or on Essentials. The rest have been on Plus, and the plus collection.

@tehKAMI Quick Question: The Uncharted 4 from the Legacy Collection or the stand alone game?

@CassiopeiaGames I own the physical PS4 game (Uncharted 4: A Thief's End).

I first tried it on PS5, but it seemed to default to the Legacy edition (maybe because I redeemed the standalone DLC on PS+ Extra), at least visually (background and logo).

Due to that not working I went to my base PS4 and tried the game here...It didn't default to the Legacy edition, but it still didn't count towards the achievement thing when ran and left running for about half an hour.

That’s why I specified plus/extra. Both those games are on Extra. I got the reward by getting them all from extra (Heavy Rain might have been a previous Plus game, didn’t check).

@tehKAMI That was my next step - dusting off the PS4 and booting the disc. They need to fix this. Is there anywhere we can let them know it's not working or how we fix it?

Thankfully the UK games list was different so I didn't need to buy a ps5 but am getting one for Christmas lucky me anyways I am having the same trouble with the heavy rain one but will keep trying some of them took awhile to register

Death Stranding isn't working for me, tried the disc version, the version from Extra and the Director's Cut... Will try on a classic PS4.

Thank you. Weirdly I have bought the disk version of three of these games and one (Uncharted 4) I have the beta of on my Uncharted Collection disk, not sure it’ll work though.

Note that you don’t need a PS5 to get this trophy, if like me you only use a PS4, if you go into PS Stars account on the app, you’ll see there are only five games listed with tick boxes so you can see which ones you have done. Also gives a percentage. Or maybe you do need a PS5 in some countries? I see some are having trouble here. I’m in NZ and it’s fine.

And you shouldn’t have to play for hours, There seems to be a fault with my Until Dawn disk, the game won’t load and it has an error, but it still registered for the trophy, no problem. If you’re playing for hours and it doesn’t register, there’s probably something wrong. Maybe try rebooting.

No problems with Heavy Rain, I badly need to replay that after I accidentally killed off everyone the first time through, so I played for a while, but it registered for PS Stars instantly.

The "Hit Play/1994" is horribly broken.
I have downloaded both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Uncharted, and nothing.
Also nothing for Detroit, Until Dawn or Heavy Rain...
Only Returnal And Death Stranding: DirCut worked for me...
