How to Win as Garnet

Garnet is one of the easier characters to get to grips with, owing to her simple but effective attacks. She's a Bruiser, which means she's best suited to dealing out the damage in close combat. Her bread and butter is her range of powerful punches, most of which can be charged for extra spice. However, there's a little more to Garnet that will help you out.

Her side special sends out her gauntlets as a controllable Projectile. This is useful for catching opponents off-guard, or for getting one extra hit on someone who's off the edge. The down special leaves a star marker wherever you are — you should try to have this ready over the arena somewhere. If you're knocked away, you can repeat the input to zip back to safety. If an enemy is caught in between, you'll grab and throw them backwards.

The neutral special is also useful to do if you get a moment to charge it. Garnet dances for a few seconds, which gains her and her ally a couple of buffs. The first is a slight speed boost, and the second makes it so melee attacks can break through Armor, both of which can give you the edge.
