Horizon Forbidden West Is There a Level Cap Guide PS5 PS4

Is there a level cap in Horizon Forbidden West? Do you reach a max level in Horizon Forbidden West? In some RPGs, you can level up your character as many times as you like, while in others, there's a limit to how much XP you can gain. As part of our Horizon Forbidden West guide, we're going to tell you whether the game has a level cap or lets you keep going forever.

Horizon Forbidden West: Is There a Level Cap?

Yes, Horizon Forbidden West does feature a level cap, meaning you can only level up Aloy to a certain point. The maximum level you can reach in Horizon Forbidden West is 50. Reaching level 50 is one of the game's Trophies; for more information on the Trophy list, visit our guide: Horizon Forbidden West Trophy Guide: All PS5, PS4 Trophies and How to Get the Platinum.

Do You Still Gain XP After Reaching the Level Cap?

Once you reach level 50 in Horizon Forbidden West, any player XP rewards will no longer fill the XP bar. This is because you have reached the level cap and can no longer level Aloy up. For more information about earning XP, see our guide: Horizon Forbidden West: How to Get XP and Level Up Fast.

However, you will still accrue Skill Points by completing any outstanding Quests, so you can continue to grow by investing in the game's skill trees. For more information about Quests, see our guide: Horizon Forbidden West: All Quests.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores

Once you buy and install the DLC, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, the game's level cap will increase from level 50 to level 60. If you have "levelled up" after reaching the previous level cap of 50, you won't be retroactively rewarded; the extra 10 levels the expansion offers will need to be earned the regular way.
