Horizon Forbidden West: How to Solve Relic Ruins: Isle of Spires
This is the first Relic Ruin you'll come across in the game. Above pictured is where it appears on the map.
How to Complete Relic Ruins: Isle of Spires
Follow these steps to solve Relic Ruins: Isle of Spires and collect Ornament #8: Golden Toucans.
Starting from the southern side of the ruins, climb up the handholds around the side of the building until you can get inside. There will be a Firegleam in here, which you need to explode.
Head through and opposite are several doors on each floor. Dive down into the water below. At the bottom of the water is a door — open it and head through.
Swim to the left and squeeze through the crack. Then swim up to find a crate. Climb up to the nearby ramp, then use the Pullcaster to get the crate on the ramp. Opposite is more Firegleam — ignite it to blow a hole in the wall.
Back outside, climb up the exterior of the building once again. At the top, go back inside to find a pair of elevators that have no power. Further into the building, you'll find an Energy Cell, but it needs charging. Leave it where it is for now.
Further in, there's a panel you can open with the Pullcaster. Do this, then climb through the vent to another room. In here, there's another charging station that's closer to the elevators. Ignite the Firegleam.
Go to the Energy Cell, pick it up, and carry it to the other charging station you just uncovered. Plug the Energy Cell in, then take it out and carry it to the elevators' power unit. The right-hand elevator will open.
Use the elevator to travel back down. Go out and move the crate into the elevator.
Travel up to the upper floor, then bring the crate out to the above position. Climb up and you will reach a spot where you need to jump to the next building.
Drop down and clamber over a wall to find the Text Datapoint 9th Floor Security Measures and a code-locked door. Approach the panel and input the code 109 to open the door.
Head through and immediately to the right. There is a room with a hole in the floor, and below a beam you can hop down to. Do this, then use the Pullcaster to drag the crate opposite into the water.
Go down to the water and opposite where the crate lands is a room with a vent inside that you can pull down. Do this, then use the Pullcaster to bring the crate towards you. Use the crate to get up into the vent.
On the other side you will be in another room with a code-locked door. Around the corner to the left is another Text Datapoint, Re: Locked In! Approach the console and input the code 2109 to open the door.
Head back down to the water. Do a u-turn to the right around the wall, and swim through the narrow path until you're back outside. Head left and back in, and you will find a Metal Flower. Clear the Metal Flower.
Head back and call down the elevator. Travel back up, then grab the crate and bring it back down to the lower level with you in the elevator.
Push the crate into the water towards the Metal Flower. Move it so it's in the above position, allowing you to shoot the locked ladder through the gap in the wall.
Head over to the now lowered ladder and climb up to the rail, then press Circle to leap backwards. On this ledge, you'll find a Key Module.
Finally, jump down to the water and swim over to the last locked door. Insert the Key Module, then enter the code 2109109. This opens the door and you can collect the Ornament.
