God of War Ragnarok: How to Beat Frost Ancient
The Frost Ancient is like any other Ancient that you may have already encountered, but the narrow shape of this battlefield and the spawning of lesser enemies can make this a surprisingly tricky boss fight.
Blocking is you best friend as far as the Frost Ancient's normal attacks go. His icy energy beam will track you, so get that barrier up. Getting in close results in the boss flailing about with unblockable attacks, so it's not really recommended. When it starts spitting up hunks of ice-infused rock, it's your time to strike from range with your arrows. Deal enough stun damage, and you'll eventually open the Ancient up.
The real issue here is the aforementioned grunt enemies, who'll do their best to interrupt your tactics. These undead warriors will never stop appearing until the Frost Ancient is dead. Some will attack from range with projectiles, while others will hunt you down with their crude melee weapons in hand.
Between the Frost Ancient hitting you with its energy beams and these creeps blindsiding you with different attacks, you can be overwhelmed a lot faster than you might think. As such, positioning is everything in this battle. Stay alert, and make good use of Atreus' very quick and evasive dodge to reposition when things look dangerous.
But hey, at least Thor is here with you. The grumpy god will occasionally keep the undead foes busy so that you can concentrate on the boss, so try to stay up to date with what he's doing.
