Can puzzles be skipped in God of War Ragnarok? Ragnarok is, effectively, a complete action adventure game, in that it spans a broad spectrum of tasks and objectives. In addition to crunching combat encounters, the game also features slower moments involving puzzles where you'll need to use your grey matter to progress or unlock a reward. Not everyone's a fan of puzzles, however, so as part of our God of War Ragnarok guide, we're going to answer the question: can puzzles be skipped?
God of War Ragnarok: Can Puzzles Be Skipped?
Puzzles are a pivotal part of God of War Ragnarok's gameplay, and therefore they can't be skipped. However, many of the most difficult puzzles are reserved for things like Nornir Chests, and these are mostly optional. If you want to open them and are struggling to do so, then you can refer to our all Nornir Chests locations and solutions for an explanation of how to open all of these.
The same is true of your story progress: our God of War Ragnarok walkthrough includes a full and comprehensive breakdown of every puzzle in the game, so if you get stuck, you can simply refer to that for guidance on what to do next. And if you don't enjoy using walkthroughs, then you may find your allies have some helpful advice for you if you listen carefully to what you've got to say. Santa Monica Studio has really designed Ragnarok very carefully, ensuring its accessible for all players, and so many of the in-game characters will have hints and tips for you when they sense you're getting stuck.
Lastly, if you feel you know the solution to a puzzle but don't have the dexterity to solve it, you can change Puzzle Timing in the Gameplay section of the Settings menu. This basically widens the window of time you have to complete certain actions, meaning puzzles in general will be easier to complete. Combine all of these strategies, and you'll have a much easier time playing through Ragnarok.
