There are 14 Chapters in the game, all of which take a minimum of 2 hours to complete. If you're sticking to playing one Main Chapter after another, you should expect the game to take roughly 50 hours to finish. After that, your playtime will depend largely on how much of the optional content you wish to do.

Completing all the Side Quests could extend your playthrough to 65 hours or more, and trying to unlock the Platinum Trophy will almost certainly see you spend 100 hours with the RPG, if not more. Since there are many open world sections in the game, it's really all about how much time you're willing to invest in living and breathing the expanses beyond Midgar.
