The latest indie game to blow up in a major way is something called How to Fish, an online co-op title that launched recently and almost immediately hit huge numbers.

It's super popular right now, but the question is: Can you play How to Fish on PS5?

To put it simply, no, you currently cannot play How to Fish on PS5.

However, via its website, developer Dazed Games has said it will be bringing the fishing game to consoles in future, but it doesn't state any sort of timeline for this.

How to Fish is a 1-4 player, physics-based, first-person game in which you're stranded on a desert island and must catch, kill, and sell fish in order to survive and make your way back home.

Featuring a low-poly art style, a wide array of fish, and many potential methods for catching and dispatching them, the tone is silly and light-hearted.

While you can reel fish in with a regular rod, there are more efficient and unusual ways to get them out of the water, including dynamite, firearms, and your own fists.

The game has multiple islands to progress through, and you'll need to earn money, get upgrades, and even defeat bosses, either solo or with some pals.

It launched on Steam on 20th August, 2026, and reached 1 million sales in just two days. At the time of writing, it's currently among the most-played games on the platform.

So, it will come to PS5 at some point, we just don't know exactly when yet.
