One thing Pinball Heroes is good at is providing a pinball experience similar to the source material it's based on. The Fat Princess table carries over virtually every element you'd expect it to.

Caught up in a stalemate with the blue team, your task is to keep their princess captive, while rescuing your own. There are a number of elements to your success. Hitting the ball over illuminating cake will allow you to feed the enemies' princess (and subsequently make her more difficult to carry away). You'll also need to mine wood and ore by carefully hitting the ball into spinners and polygonal objects. Mining wood and ore allows you to build elements on the table, such as a bridge and catapult — all of which are essential to the retrieval of your princess.

Sure, the tasks are blow-to-blow identical to the source material, but the table feels too busy. It undoubtedly looks fantastic, but there's perhaps a little too much to consider. And with so many objects on-screen, it can be difficult to keep your ball on the table, let alone manage resources and build objects.

The table should be admired for how closely it sticks to its source material; but then, Fat Princess always was a bit of a mess, wasn't it?

Conclusion

Pinball Heroes is a PlayStation Portable application developed by Sony San Diego. It’s available from the PlayStation Store where tables can be bought in bulk, or separately. Each table includes online scoreboards and trophies.
