My this will be a tough decision!

@melaneil Yes another vote for Yakuza! Cheers mate. Im not one to lobby but when my favourite game on PS4 is almost safe (when almost all my other picks are dead on the water) Im pretty chuffed.

Tetris got me into gaming, I had to chuck it a couple of points.
@themcnoisy good to hear you're fighting fit again, sounds like we're all going to need to be on top form for this next round...

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@RogerRoger With you on Uncharted 2. Replayed the trilogy recently because my wife only got into them at U4, so she wanted to catch up. Uncharted 2 kind of left me wondering why it is regarded as being so much better than the others. Still great, like.
The fourth one is my favourite, but I started The Lost Legacy last night and if it carries on at this rate, it could be the best one...

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@RogerRoger Glad to know I'm not the only one who was underwhelmed by Uncharted 2. I mean, it's still leagues better than U1 and Golden Abyss, but sections like the one where you have to lure the tank around, the section with the yeti, or the terrible final battle drag it down for me.

Uncharted 3 was much better at being a constantly moving thrill fest, with some of the best setpieces in the series. And Uncharted 4 managed to perfectly marry fantastic action gameplay to a great plot that really deconstructs Nathan Drake and explores themes that have hidden under the surface of the series the entire time.

Of course, even the worst Uncharted game is more interesting than The Last of Us, which is probably the most bored I've ever been playing a big AAA game. People talk about how moving and meaningful it is, and I have to wonder if those people have ever watched horror movies or TV series or read a piece of post-apocalyptic sci-fi in the last ten years. Absolutely the most overrated game I've ever played in my life.

@Ralizah I am with you on the last of us. It was a nicely told story but I found the videogame sections to be pretty average 💤

Never belligerent but always uncompromising.

I too was left underwhelmed by Uncharted 2!

@Feena Naughty Dog isn't great when it comes to pure gameplay, but they're second-to-none when it comes to spectacle and "cinematic" gameplay, which is why I think the Uncharted games still manage to be pretty fun. It's easy to get caught up in the moment when you're constantly escaping from firefights, burning houses, crumbling cliffs, explosions, etc. They're like big, dumb action movies crossed with the Westernized exoticism of something like Indiana Jones.

TLoU slows down, though. It still has set-pieces, but they don't overwhelm you, so you're free to see the seams in ND's game design.

I also think that ND's writers are good at writing dialogue, but struggle to create genuinely compelling conflicts in their games.

Basically, I think Uncharted plays to their strengths, and TLoU exposes their weaknesses.
