Got another of the Travelers in Octopath last night Primrose the dancer. So far her background story was interesting but it was boring to play. Most of it was text. Ah well. So that brings me up a question what was everyone's favorite character intro?

Back to Nintendo Switch relevant topics, the Online is being touted as "With more games to come" by NoE. Don't know if that means the unrevealed 10 or what but there it is.

It's strange how secretive they are about it. Especially since it's pretty much delayed by a year, and people still feel they don't know what they're getting. But hey, the pre-orders are live, that's what matters, right?
Honestly we mock the idea of pre-ordering it, but I kinda had to due to not knowing how funds would line up this month, given a load of bills have just changed starting yesterday.
So a pre-order actually helped immensely. I could afford it, I just didn't know if I could for when the service launched, or when I next get paid.

@Octane No, I got paid on the 28th of August, which is when some bills go out, up to and including September 21st. I, now in work, get paid every 4 weeks.
So my last welfare cheque has to last until then, and no, I wouldn't have it if I didn't spend it. I am budgeted down to the last penny to maximise what I can do with what little I have.
So by paying for the online when I did, I can avoid missing two weeks of content due to playing Splatoon on streams. If I had saved it, it would have gone to prepayments on my website domain, which I will simply do two months of once I get my first work paycheque, if that makes sense.
I can hold off on paying for my site renewal, I cant on the Online service due to what I'll use it for.
Would be nice to have an idea of what those "Offers" are. I mean I'm fine spending Gold coins on the eShop because it does add up regardless, it's just a lack of clarity is frustrating.

@Knuckles-Fajita But if you put the money away in a box, and not touch it until the sub starts, it would still be there, no? At least, that's how I always think about it.
For the offers I expect 40% off on birthdays instead of 20%.
Ok I went and clean things up a bit this thread is for discussing THE NINTENDO SWITCH
If you want to discuss Financial planning, new jobs etc there is a chit chat thread for that sort of thing. Next person that purposely details this thread and I don't care who you are, how long you have been here what your status is on NL will get a temporary ban.

Well, off ya go ;p
Either way, the fact they refuse to date something and fully explain it when it is between 11 and 28 days out is...maddening to me. We deserve to know what we are in for and this continued silence doesn't help.
Sure it's only $20 a year but it's still odd to get this close and just leave it unexplained.
@Octane with the recent (this isn't Switch specific so I'll hide it) rebranding of EU stores under "MyNintendo" I do wonder if along side the neat Gold Point discount system they will roll out specific discounts in addition to sales, maybe in exchange for Gold Points.
Like how now it is 1 point for 1p off. But under a special sale it could be 1 point for 10p, just as an example.
I'm a bit down on The World Ends With You direct gameplay feed from Pax for the Switch. I love the soundtrack, but the game itself seems very mobile-esque?

@Fight_Teza_Fight I never actually played the original so I am looking forward to it after hearing such good things about it. Did they change the presentation of it?

@Tasuki Neither did I. The game was recommended to me by a friend, who was primarily buying a Switch for this game. Having watched some 3DS gameplay I think the 3DS dual screen adds a unique layer of fun as @DerMeister has suggested. Will be keeping an eye out for more Switch footage, but atm I'm leaning towards tracking down a 3DS version.

Something seems off with this port of The World Ends With You. Surely it's based on the iOS version? The battles were really frantic and exciting in the original DS one yet look completely and utterly tepid in that video. :-/
