Topic: PS Vita Original & PS Vita Slim

Will the original PS Vita be discontinued now that there is a PS Vita Slim? Has a release date been announced for the US release of the PS Vita Slim? I read it was coming out Oct. 10 in Japan but haven't seen a release date for anywhere else.

Nop the Original PS Vita will still be available but it'll be a bit more expensive than the slim version.

I want the slim Vita, but it seems like Sony doesn't take the Western market seriously when it comes to handhelds They're too busy pushing the PS4 on us, and while the PS4 is one hell of system, I'm more of a handheld gamer.
Seriously considering importing.

The price of the unit and mem cards really hurt. That's where Sony went wrong the most. I still don't think the mem card prices has been resolved very well. They cut it a little bit but nothing significant.

The memory cards are really expensive, I wish they hadn't used a propriety one.

Japan was more into handheld while the West more into console.
I guess that's true looking at the sales number for Vita in West and PS4 preorder number...
