1) Which will sell more on Christmas season, given the Vita's possible game lineup? 2) Which most smoothly introduces users into the system, it's gaming possibilities and such? 3) Will the Vita make a comeback, similar to the Nintendo 3DS's opening months?
When I say thread starters, I mean that people can post questions and answers to those questions as much as they want on this thread.
1. Iwe all know by now the vita in Japan did not do all to well over the holiday release but when you go up against a monster hunter game the same week in a country that is known for loving that franchise your going to have a bumpy start. Nintendo ha that planned very well. My hopes is to see vita be number one for 2012 cause it really is far far ahead of the 3ds tech.
2 vita again cause its only the biginging of what's to come.
3. Vita will make A comeback cause from talking to friends and people on twitter. These being same people that had no interest are now going out of there to buy it and buy 3G versions just shows the audiance is there for it.
Hope I make sense cause I am very tired and iv work again in 6 hours.

1) Probably the Vita since Nintendo will be focusing on the Wii U this holiday season. 2) I'd have to have a Vita to know the difference, so no comment. 3) If you mean in Japan, It depends. The economy isn't doing so great there, so it may require a price drop or at least a Monster Hunter game, and knowing Capcom, the king of ports, it'll be on the Vita eventually. As for everywhere else, it has to do badly first before it can make a comeback, and there's no evidence that shows it'll do badly in the west, so...
Thx, pplz. For the second question, you know the Welcome app on PS Vita that helps new users? Does the PS Vita let people know more about itself than the Nintendo 3DS let's users know about itself?
1) As much as I hate to say this, but 3DS will sell more during the holiday season. I never quite reached me why Nintendo is so popular in Japan, even though it's evidently worse than all of its competitors... 2) I think Vita does, based on what I've seen in the comparison videos. But yeah, as GundamMac said, I'd like to have one first to comment. 3) It just might. But Call of Duty (for NA) and Monster Hunter (for JP) have to be announced pronto.
1) 3DS no doubt. But I suspect Sony to pull out a neat bundle/entertainment back to entice potential buyers.
2) I think the 3DS does it well. It's all simple, and the built in games such as FaceRaiders and AR Games gives you a taste of what can be done on the system. Both do well in introducing what they're capable of, actually.
3) I'm hoping so. Because the 3DS needs the competition

Call of Duty Vita was announced back at E3.
I meant announced the release date for it. And you know perfectly what I meant, so get off my back!
Actually, it's something a lot of people seemed to have forgetten. It was more of a general reminder. And seriously, I don't know how I was supposed to get release date when you never mentioned anything resembling "release date" and you mentioned Call of Duty alongside a game that has not yet been announced at all. But really, I'm just trying to be helpful, there's no need to get angry about it.
Now that I own both the 3DS and the Vita and have been spending a significant amount of time with Vita, I can tell you firsthand: Vita is FAR superior to the 3DS! You guys that have been around Nintendo Life know that I'm a huge 3DS/DS fan, but just wait until you guys spend some quality time with Vita. Not only are the dual analog controls fantastic, but the double touchscreen is a setup that I completely underestimated. The back touchscreen is being used in some really creative ways that I didn't expect at all and when coupled with the sixaxis controls, nearly the entire system is optimized for input. It's really impressive.
Then you've got the incredible operating system it's running on. It's simple, but genius. It's very similar to iOS, but it's wonderfully setup to be constantly online. You can seamlessly go from playing a game, to checking trophies and NEAR, then group messaging your friends with no loading. It's a easy as flipping through the pages of a magazine, which is exactly how it's setup. It's quite genius.
Unless Nintendo has some major tricks up its sleeve, then Vita will be the killer seller this holiday season. With both Monster Hunter and Call of Duty likely landing on Vita by years end, it'll be Vita's Christmas this go around.
Like I said, you've got to actually get Vita in your hands to truly understand it. I haven't been as impressed with a console like I am with Vita since playing the Wii or PS2 at their respective launches.
I didn't think it'd be so, but comparing Vita to the 3DS is basically the same as trying to compare the Wii to the PS3.

Yes, but however much you may love the Vita, quality is no guarantee of good sales. You only need to glance at the iOS store to see where I'm coming from. Price is generally the deciding factor in how well something sells, and although many may long for the Vita, if it's not affordable, they won't buy it.
I know Mario personally as I caught him in a pokeball! 3ds Friend code; 1934 0713 8215 PSN ID: TitanBryan Follow me on twitter to support Pokemon Hoenn remake!!!!
Vita is good but no comparison to 3DS I mean in games and controls and reliability!!!!!

I love the 3DS for what it offers and I love Vita for what it offers. Vita is the most amazing portable video game system I've ever had the pleasure of playing. It's a beast. That being said, I love both the 3DS and Vita for what they both offer. Some great games for both systems and more on the way. It's a good time to be a portable gaming fan.
1. 3DS, lets face it for all intents and purposes Nintendo has been the king of handhelds ever since they entered that domain and I don't see that changing any time soon. The system is affordable, has impressive technology and a strong library with more great games on the way. They've said a 2D Super Mario is on the way as well, those games games sell boat loads so I'm betting on that being the 3DS' big holiday release and I expect it to sell. That said just because one sells better than the other doesn't mean they both can't have successful holiday seasons which as an owner of both is what I'm hoping for.
2. I think both systems do a great job of welcoming new users. The set up is different but it's easy to navigate the interfaces of both machines, can't really pick a winner here.
3. I think it will. There will be a price drop at some point which will help but I think more than that, it'll be the combination of the hardware and software. The Vita is a fantastic piece of technology and from what I've seen in stores as soon as people get to check it out for themselves they're sold on how great a product it is. That doesn't always translate to a sale right away but it at least puts the product in the consumer's mind. Maybe $250 is a bit much for them but when it's down to $200 or less maybe that person goes back to buy the system. On the game front there's really nothing bad you can say about the system, imo. I mean at launch we got home console quality versions of Uncharted, Wipeout, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Virtua Tennis and some great downloadable games like Mutant Blobs and Super Stardust Delta. In the next few months MLB 12 The Show (with great crossover features with the PS3 version), Mortal Kombat and Gravity Rush are on the way and I'm sure we'll hear about some more great stuff during the upcoming Sony conference. It's too early to say where the system will be 3-5 years from now but I hope it does well because it really is an awesome little device.
