@Ravix @FuriousMachine Speaking of Noah Hawley, I'm currently watching Alien Earth and am enjoying more than I thought. It is not brilliant but far from trash. It is a bit tropy with a lot of characters doing stupid things, and some obvious cgi in places, but none of that is a deal breaker for me. It has genuinely had me on the edge of my seat at times, mostly to do with the aforementioned questionable decisions made lol. It is my fave Alien thing post Prometheus so far.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

@JohnnyShoulder I wholeheartedly agree with you there! I enjoyed it quite a bit and those new creatures were pure nightmare fuel. They helped bring the series closer to the original's horror roots than ever before. However, I did have one pretty major gripe, and that was that it failed to make the classic xenomorph feel like a proper threat. I thought that was a shame. Still, looking forward to season 2 nonetheless

@FuriousMachine Glad to hear that there will be a season 2!

I just finished watching s2e08 of Dark Matter, titled "The Basic Oneness of Everything" and it's another "binge-breaker" where the main story is put on hold in order to tell a tangential (well, kind of) story, as s02e05 was before it. And, like episode 5 before it, it hit me in the feels.
In the olden days of 22-23 episode long seasons, these might have been uncharitably been referred to as "filler" episodes, and while some might consider these to be just that, I am of the opposite mind.
I've enjoyed this season so far, but I think I actually prefer these quieter episodes and would absolutely love to see more of them in the future. Of course, without a strong main storyline to break from, they would be less effective, so let's keep that too 😉

@psmr Two days to go until the season finale, so I would love to hear your take on this season when you've seen it, and these two episodes in particular

@FuriousMachine I’m looking forward to it mate. I adored season 1 but thought it probably hasn’t done well enough for a season 2 to get greenlit, so I was so happy when I heard it had.

We’ll get Halloween out if the way this weekend and then Dark Matter season 2 could be a good shout for the weekend after.

Might not feel like it but these are your glory days.
The "salad years" you know?
Nothing is going to beat who you are now.
You can't see all the ****ed up 💩 that's looming on the horizon.
Enjoy this dude

Watching Below on Netflix as I love all the horror stuff that comes out this time of year, but a few episodes in and I don't know what's happened. The dialogue between characters just stopped making sense.

It's honestly like some of them have accidentally been swapped and they're reading each other's lines. I don't understand the character development anymore and there's a strong disconnect between the set ups and how the characters are reacting to the situation as it unfolds.

At first I was really interested but now I don't believe they're real people, I mean I know they aren't but they don't seem real "in universe".

The number of times someone has said "Don't go in the water!" And then immediately boarded a small boat hurts me.
