Topic: Dragon Age 3 is the worst RPG ever =)

Not at all, I found type-0 much more fun and that's far from perfect. Dragon Age just had lots of little niggles and unlikeable details that after 20 hours or so started putting me off.

Trollish click bait? No its not, its quite clear a number of people up in here dont like this game. Worst rpg ever? Well you have a point Hydalyde was terrible. That is possibly the worst RPG ever. And then then dao is second worst.

Its good, but put this against the heavy hitters of the genre (SNES-PS1-PS2 era) and this one lacks... A LOT

Its rubbish in Britain. I don't like it, in fact I'm trading it in asap and trading it for a better game. Its arduous, generic, boring, clumsy, pants,, trash, rubbish, 3/10, 32%, 1.5stars, I went in expecting a brilliant game and it just didn't do anything for me.

Why do you even care if someone finds it bad or not ?

In my opinion, its a fine game for 1 run, and thats about it, there are a lot of stuff that are SOOO MUNDANE it gets boring to do it again (even in the first run it was boring)

You dont want Nostalgia ? Xenoblade Chornicles kick this games ass any day of the week, and its pretty much the same idea, better combat, better story, better characters (terrible voice acting thou), much more interesting world.

Still, it's a blatant exaggeration presented in a deffinitive statement. There are far worse RPGs out there, to the point where I am genuinely envious of your ignorance. Hydlyde isn't even as bad as it gets. Maybe it sneaks into the bottom 50, but only barely. The hole goes much deeper. And even as far as console releases in the last 10 years, when people should know better by now, I can think of worse games. Two Worlds and Too Human (connection?) are two of the biggest disappointments in recent video game history, up there with Alien: Isolation as far as the amount of bullshots and drastic downgrades from what was originally promised. As far as functionality goes, at least it's not like Bethesda's games where they're barely playable in between all the glitchs, some of which are downright game-breaking. Yet still, I wouldn't say they're as bad as the original releases of Arcania: Gothic 4 and Divinity II: Ego Draconis, both of which felt more like alphas instead of finished, full-priced products, and the fact that both got at least one "Director's cut" style remakes with drastic alterations just drives that point home.

And as far as gameplay goes, it did what it set out to do, and it did more or less what was promised. Tactical view is an essential element of the game. I'm not sure how anymore could get through the game without using it liberally - I can't even get past a bunch of bandits without using it. And that was the point. It's been a major feature of many of Bioware's games since Baldur's Gate, of which Dragon Age was always meant to be a callback to. Mass Effect was an outlier in development history, and was always intended to be so. And entire Western RPG genre has always been about exploring and being immersed in vast open worlds. Those "repetitive tasks" aren't the point. They exist to give you a reason to go over that hill and see what's on the other side, but they're largely optional. The main story is the only major focal point, otherwise you have a lot of options as to what you can do, and goals you can set for yourself. The game doesn't do much to detract from that. If none of that sounds interesting to you, then fine, the game isn't for you. But quality isn't just what you want out of it, it's what the developers wanted to set out to accomplish, and whether or not they met those goals, as well.

Different people just have different taste. I didn't buy into the characters at all nor did I feel they were well voiced or scripted. I wouldn't call it a bad game by any stretch, but I also didn't have fun playing it. I felt s if 90% of my time was screwing around in a menu or running from point A to B.. and running from A to B was agonizingly boring to me in Dragon Age.

I know how some of you feel though... the Final Fantasy 13 series are some of my favorite games ever. I know they aren't for everyone, but it can be hard to 'understand' why people dislike the games we love sometimes. I'm sure each of us could list a very popular game we hated that seemingly a majority of other gamers loved. We could also probably list a game we loved that seemingly a majority of other gamers hated. That's what makes gaming special!

Well actually Da3 isn't the worst game of all time here's my list of worst games
Worst ever - ET Atari
2nd worst - super hydalyde
3rd worst - sonic racers
4th worst - dragon age 3
5th worst - candy crush

So I now actually agree its only the forth worst game of all time.

Despite my dislike for the game I agree character voicing was all very good IMO

After reading this thread, I'm kinda happy I passed on it in favor of waiting for the Witcher 3. I'm sure DA3 is a great title to the right person, but it never looked like my cup of tea.

@CanisWolfred Ive got a game similar to da3, its called become a cleaner. Collect all the stuff in a room and then go to the next and do the same. From here you can walk to your next building, and collect more stuff. You would love it.

It's not my worst game. I'd say some random Pirates of The Carribean GBA game is my least favorite. And the worst RPG I've played would probably be Avatar: The Last Airbender on PS2.

Dragon Age Inquisition kept me playing because I enjoy A) Good characters, and the cast here (except Josephine) might rival the Mass Effect crew in my mind, and B) Breaking a game's mechanics over my knee. I played a dagger rogue, and I crafted knifes that gave me Armor for every hit I landed.

...I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to respond to that without getting myself banned from a website I actually enjoy posting on, which is definitely not here...goddamn connected accounts...

lol. Fair play. Why dont you like posting here? I think its great. You clearly know your games just like most other users on the forums. Dont take things personally it was only a bit of fun. Sorry if I offended you. Unless your a cleaner in which case I'm probably digging a bigger hole.

OK I think we are done here. Clear some people enjoy Dragon Age 3 others didnt. If you do that's great if not that's great too. Now let's just all go enjoy some games instead of arguing back and forth.
