@Th3solution nor am I. Nor am I. (Although maybe you can infer that for yourself 😁) the Hawks know to go directly at Brunson, another popular player that can't defend. And it works pretty well. It's weird, of that team I like some of the players away from the main 2, but it perplexes me how Bridges can go some nights without ever looking like scoring. But I guess that is what happens when you base most of the offense around Brunson going 1 on 1. Or the Brunson and Kat 2 man game. You can get the odd player chipping in like OG with threes, but a lot of the time there just isn't room for everyone to fit in. If they don't advance I imagine they will blow it all up. On paper they should be finalists every year, they have high effort players, defenders and scorers. But they are a nonsense team.

Hopefully Joe can stop the Celtics being a nonsense team tonight 😅 but at the end of the day we still have lost so many pieces and Vucevic is still an issue when he's on the floor.

@Pizzamorg I'm fine with Washington taking Sonny Styles, a LB first pick. They finally got the QB of the future, but they have so many holes on Defense, its keeping them from being competitive. Last season was a throw away year, they were absolutely decimated with big name injuries. But Jaydens rookie year, they were one win away from the super bowl. So its going in the right direction.

I'm happy Wash is competitive again. They got more rebuilding to do. But best thing they ever did was get new ownership and change the culture for the better.

@StitchJones I'd argue Washington potentially won the entire first round. What a steal getting Styles there, and the defence with Oweh and Styles coming at you. Cool as hell.

@Pizzamorg True. We need to add a WR next pick. Mclauren is alone out there. We need a legit #2 wideout. Could use a slot guy too, but that's not a priority with pick #3, prob OL for that. The only prob with Jayden is, he's built like a skinny basketball player. I love his quickness and mobility, but those body types can't absorb impacts. I'm hoping its not gonna be another RG3 thing all over again, because Jayden has some serious talent and IQ out there in his very young career. Would be ashame if its derailed by injuries. With that type of frame, he's gonna need a stout Oline his whole career.

I was always a hockey nut first and foremost with always be my fave sport. I used to love football much better years ago. But what tarnished the sport for me in this modern game is, its no longer a battle of skill and athletics. Its a battle of who can get to the end and have the most starters still standing. Every single week man, there's a blown ACL or ruptured achilles, or insane concussion. All the injuries just make the sport tedious these days. LOL just ask Denver, right?

Day 2 of the Draft in the books. Rumours / stories swirling that the Chargers did actually try to get out of the first round, but either had no bites or at least no bites that were packages they wanted. Pure PR damage control cause the response to the pick they made was largely received negatively? Possibly. But with this in mind, the Mesidor pick makes a little more sense.

The way the draft assigns contract value to the number and round you are drafted in kinda forces your hand, when you have needs at less "premium positions" like IOL. Like they could have gone for a Guard here but it would have been considered a massive reach, so they went best player available, at a more premium position of need, and the hope is Mesidor's long college career means he can make an immediate impact. Who knows. I am still struggling with this to be honest, but it is hope season.

Talking of Guards, the Chargers traded back to take a projected fourth round centre with pretty middling pre-draft grades. I guess the idea is that his potential to be a swing centre who can theoretically play at guard is more valuable to them than just signing an actual pure guard, I sorta don't agree with this whatsoever, but I gotta give myself some cope.
