Yeah, it's basically those 3 things and nothing else.

Had mine day one and not experienced any of those things.

‘Is PS5 worth it’ is such a subjective topic that I’m not sure you can really generate much worthwhile debate. At the end of the day, it depends on too many individual factors to really compare two peoples’ experiences.

No way - invest that cash in crypto and buy the PS5, Series X and OLED in the fall

Ever since getting my PS5, my life has changed dramatically. I feel more confident, have more success with the ladies and my spotty complexion? A thing of the past. I feel the PS5 has made me the man I always wanted to be.

It is quite a chonky console tho.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

@muado Hi I have had my disc based PS5 since launch and so far it is quiet except the disc drive does make a noise when reading the discs.

Some people get a buzzing noise from the builtin power supply when playing intense games.

To be honest until Returnal and Ratchet & Clank comes out there's no real standout games for the PS5 so far so you are not missing much at the moment.

There's been no big UI update yet which is odd so expect an update in the summer hopefully to add more features like the internal drive bay.

Feel free to add me on Switch.

Day one purchase and only had a few tiny problems with external HDD crashing it a lot. All sorted easily though. All ok now

@Kidfried I've had my PS5 since November and not once have I knowingly had Covid-19. Coincidence? I think not.

Loud, heating problems and stick drift? is this the ps4 you want to know about?

Is it worth it is only a question you can answer really, to me yeah it's worth it.

Had mine since launch, no coil whine, no overheating. Had rest mode act up once just unplugged and was fine. Sticky l3 but took dualsense apart and cleaned the joysticks with alcohol and a dab of wd40, I did the same to all my dualshock 4s. Disc noise idk never put one in yet. My take is yes they have bugs to work out after launch but overall very satisfied it makes my ps4 feel like a windows xp machine. Loading times are amazing, downloads don't take ungodly long, 120hz in a few games is butter smooth.

Had mine since launch, no issues. Been using an external SSD on rest mode since then as well.

There's a electronic chip shortage which a lot of devices use so this could delay decent stock levels this year.

I enjoy my PS5 but mainly play PS4 games on it at the moment.

Iv had mine since 2 days after lunch day (I was lucky enough to be able to buy one on launch day) and apart from the minor nuisance of a noisy disk drive I had no problems with it.

This is my first games system in many years, (my brother had an original PlayStation) but I'm really really loving it, particularly the jump in quality in ps5 games like spiderman miles morales also how it can play ps4 games nativly at launch (as normally a game system has few games for the first few months of its life) which gave me a huge choice of games to play.

I also love how some ps4 games are getting upgrades/patches which allow them to look, feel and work better than they ever could on ps4.

I'm from brazil and got the ps5 at launch, if you dont know how brazillian tariffs work on consoles let me tell ya, retail price here is about 1000 dollars.
But, most of you wont have this issue, at 500 dollars the ps5 is incredibly worth it, its a fantastic machine. Its quiet as *****, it does not overheat at all (and I live in a hot tropical country) and I never had any issues with joystic drift.
The only real issue I have with it is that the disc drive can be a bit loud when booting the console or installing a game, but itsnowhere near how loud the ps4 pro got and it gets quiet pretty soon after that.

@Pditty1980 @LordOfTurnips Good to know my disc drive noise is normal.

Have been using my new unit just for a few hours and I’d say it’s definitely worth it, although I also feel like PS4 has plenty of life left in it too, so I’m not blown away to the point of saying it’s a “must own” yet. I’ll see how I feel after playing Returnal. I have a feeling that will be the point at which I’ll feel like I’m better off with a PS5 over my PS4.

To me personally its well worth it..cool running, silent and so far has not crashed once..no issues running an external hdd..ps5 games are very fast and ps4 games do tend to load a tad faster even off the external hdd but i must stress they are not massivley reduced..i am mainly playing my ps4 backlog but with the enhanced versions i am enjoying games again i would never have normaly played through again..

Kick out the jams!
