I'm very hyped, but souls fanboys are acting like Elden Ring is the best thing they haven't played yet and we know we have contenders remaining (Starfield, GoW, Atlus's Soul Hackers and Zelda).

I was enjoying poking, but people are actually believing Elden Ring will win every game of life poll.

@kyleforrester87 I’ve already had that with Horizon. Having played Valhalla recently and Spider-Man as well, the controls are different in all of those. Elden Ring should be fine though, I mean the network test played identically to Dark Souls 3 after all!

@EclipseZero Blimey. That is a lot of 10's!

@EclipseZero You mean TGAs?

Well. You have a point that it's between AAA games, but if it was popularity alone, Sekiro wouldn't have won or COD would be nominated each year.

If that's the "poll" you're referring to.

Got my one hour time slot for delivery at a decent time. Won't get chance to play it until I get home later.

Apparently the latest patch has not been great for the game though.

Cheers @kyleforrester87. Most of the technical issues I've heard of can be fixed hopefully. Not ideal, but is the world we live in currently. Plus I played cyberpunk 2077 at launch, so that should prepare me for anything lol.

Does anybody know whether or not the PS5 version has any DualSense features? I'm still weighing up whether to go PS5 or Series X. From what I can tell the PS5 version has better loading times and a higher overall frame rate, but on the other hand friends are more likely to go Xbox which is making me lean that way.

Hey my dudes, who already have the game. Does the game have co-op that works? Asking for a friend.
No, really asking for a friend - they’re considering which platform to get it for and AFAIK there’s been some security issues leading to temporarily disabling the multiplayer stuff in Dark Souls that were supposed to affect ER as well. So we’re wondering whether that was fixed or not.

@Voltan yeah that's the Steam versions - I have Dark Souls 2 and 3 on Steam, and there's been no multiplayer for the last month or so (other platforms e.g. Playstation have been unaffected), but we've been assured that the servers will be back up after Elden Ring has launched, and hopefully Elden Ring itself is fine

I certainly hope so anyway, as I'm waiting for my Elden Ring launch edition with Steam key (somewhat at the mercy of Royal Mail as I ordered from Argos - got a text yesterday saying it had been sent but delivery is "between the 25th and 28th" - no guarantee of arrival on launch day. Which IMO is a little bit silly as it's a steam key so I wouldn't even be able to play it until the game launches anyway)

@lolwhatno Thanks. None of the reviews I read really seemed to be talking about it, so I kind of assumed there were no specific features. Good to see it written down somewhere though!

@velio84 @danlk1ng Thanks for the answers. I’d still appreciate an answer from someone who tried going into multiplayer in ER themselves, because I’m getting mixed signals from other sources

@Voltan If no-one's answered you by the time I've received my box from Royal Mail, downloaded and booted up Elden Ring, I'll give it a go and let you know (Dark Souls multiplayer on steam has been so dead, you can't even see people's soapstone messages)

In terms of Playstation Elden Ring though, Playstation access did a stream just yesterday, where 3 of them were playing Elden Ring in co-op (and like I said, Dark Souls has been fine on Playstation this whole time as well) so there's no reason to believe it's an issue on Playstation platforms

Some DS players have been circumventing the issues on Steam by using private servers, but AFAIK that's not an option for playstation players

Played last night for 30 minutes after it went live. Two things:

  • Framerate isn’t perfect but it’s fine. Totally playable. Nothing to stress over really.
  • no you cannot pause.

Update:

About the phenomenon of game data that does not save correctly in the PlayStation 5 version
If the PS5 console is unexpectedly turned off while playing a game or in rest mode, saved data may not be saved correctly.
We are aware of the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to correct it, but until the patch is released, please save your game manually by exiting the game regularly.
Game data will be saved correctly if you quit the game by opening the system menu using the OPTION button and selecting "Quit Game.”

The crowd, accepting this immediately, assumed the anti-Eurasian posters and banners everywhere were the result of acts of sabotage by agents of Goldstein and ripped them from the walls.

Got it all delivered and it is all safe at home. Just can't wait to play it now!

Eh, played more and the framerate is definitely problematic as you get into the open. Definitely distracts from game experience

Mine's on it's way according to Amazon's tracking. Fingers crossed it gets there and I'm playing it tonight!

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
