Hello guys,

Im new here and don’t know if this is the right section to ask this question.

I have my ps5 now for awhile and since last week the gamediscs are pretty hot after gaming. I was wondering if other ps users has experienced this and if this is normal?

I’ve felt them definitely being slightly hotter than the PS4 but nothing noticeably worrying. As long as you can’t fry an egg on one then you should be OK.

@RT888 My advice would just be to make sure that the PS5 is getting enough air flow around it. It pulls air in the front and ejects it out the back so you’ll want a relatively clear space around the console on both sides. Might be worth giving it a little clean too.

@nessisonett

Thank you for the advice.

Yeah I was thinking of cleaning the fans. Haven’t done that since I got the ps.

I always did clean the outside and vacuum the airflow vents. And I’m thinking about replacing my ps to a more open space. Thanks again for the advice

@RT888 The PS5 is incredibly easy to take apart and clean compared to my old PS4 model. That said, after a year there was hardly any dust in mine at all when I recently did it.

Doesn’t sound like you have much to worry about and I hope you managed to wash the egg off your disc easily enough

@Thrillho

Thank you for responding.

The egg dripps away easily from the disc lol.

I was just worried it wasent normal, because the disc was quite hot.

I am gonna try to clean the fans And other wise I will send it to a local shop to get it cleaned.

I've only had my PS5 for a week, but to this point the discs aren't any different than with the PS4, or PS3 for that matter.
