It looks like all the past threads have been closed or archived.

I recently started playing Diablo 3 again. I decided to finally start a mage. I’ve always preferred the smashy characters like the Barbarian or the Crusader.

I’m actually enjoying this though, it’s a lot of fun having some new (to me) moves to play with in a game I have spent over 1000 hours on.

It’s frankly shocking that I have played this across three generations and it still excites me. No other game has ever had staying power like this!

I hoped I’d enjoy the Diablo 2 remake as much, but the overly fussy inventory and lack of pazaz as far as combat is concerned turns me off a bit. But the worst thing is how you can, apparently, run into a dead end with your build if you don’t skill up properly. I’m not sure how realistic this concern really is, with chances to respec available and perhaps you only ever gate yourself from the highest difficulties?

As for Diablo 4.. in many respects it looks fantastic. Please don’t cock it up, Blizzard….!

I'm also a big Diablo fan. Spent a lot of hours on the original Diablo 2 and lord of destruction back in the days. Was such a fun game to play. Diablo 3 I also played since launch. I haven't done all season stuff but once every while it's so much fun to play together with my wife who is also a big fan.

Diablo 4 looks to be a blast. I had access to the closed beta and can tell you it felt like a good mix between 2 and 3. It looked absolutely stunning. Even though you can encounter other players in the open world it still feels like your own game. From what I've played it looks very promising. But yeah between the beta in november and the release is like 8 months so a lot can change still. But it has a lot of potential. I will play it day 1 with my wife for sure

I'm still playing too, as my wife and I spend most Sunday evenings playing co-op. Currently fighting through greater rifts at around level 108, but they're pretty tough! Weirdly (?) I've pretty much never played it solo, though.

We're definitely looking forward to Diablo 4, and join you in hoping they don't cock it up

Diablo 3 is an amazing game, it's one of the few games I bought multiple times and I still play it from time to time. In fact with the news of Diablo 4 I have been thinking of playing it again problem is I just don't know if my old builds will hold up anymore.

I’ve not managed to actually do a level 70 hardcore character - I haven’t tried many times either to be honest. Wondering if I should try and go for the platinum before D4 or something, get some real closure 😂

I hope the music in Diablo 4 holds up. For anyone who played the test, how was the soundtrack?

I just took delivery of Diablo 3 on Switch, I saw it for £25 and figured it'd be nice to have it to play in bed etc. on occasion. Given how much I have gone back to this game over the years I expect it'll get plenty of periodic playtime moving forward. Plus it'll be interesting starting a completely new save with no gold, paragon levels, shared gear, levelled up vendors and so on.

Anyone playing the D4 beta, then?

I watched a little bit of footage.. looked good from what I saw. Hard to say until a lot more time has been spent with it, I guess.

I played it all weekend. Loved it. It’s like a mix of Diablo II and III. There’s something special about the Diablo games that other similar games can’t replicate. The beta alone has loads of content, so I can see the full game lasting ages. I’m a big fan of it being open world. I went with a barbarian and managed to get to level 25.

I am looking to check out the Diablo IV beta next weekend when it's open. I am excited to try it out as I loved Diablo III and an open world just sounds awesome.

@Tasuki yeah I guess I will have to give it a go since it’s free, I wonder if the servers will be able to handle it though.

Is it just for the weekend or..?

@Bentleyma that’s good, any issues yourself with it being shared world?

I can see that is putting some people off, doesn’t really bother me mind - in principal.

@kyleforrester87 No issues whatsoever. You’ll see other players going about their business, but you don’t have to interact with anyone at all. I finished Act I on my own with no problems.

I’m pretty sure you can preload the beta now, ready for the weekend. I can see it under the demos section of the PlayStation Store.

So is Diablo 3 finished now with major updates to classes and such? I am thinking of starting up a playnthrough of Diablo 3 on the Switch but I hate having to update my builds with every update because they balance something or this skill isn't viable anymore etc. All this Diablo talk has got me wanting to play again.

@Tasuki I am thinking exactly the same. I've never played a Diablo game... but the IV hype is making me really enthused about giving D3 a whirl on Switch
