I just finished the newest update for ps4 which was 8.00 if I remember right. The UI for the party has changed and I think it is much worse now. As you have to have a message chat group with somone to create a party because if you don't your friends list will forever load. You can't have a party by yourself now. I think the old UI was just fine and this new one is harder and unnecessary.
@Cold4u. I totally agree. I used to occasionally make videos on my own where I'm in chat alone and say funny comments to the npcs...now I have to invite someone to the party just for them to join and me to tell them to leave so I can make a video on my own. One of the dumbest things in my opinion. Now if I dont invite....im in game chat where everyone can hear me. Smh.
Lmao, did you create 3 different profiles so you could agree with yourself cause they’re all created within a few minutes and that’s their only post 😂😂

This stupid update has ABSOLUTELY RUINED the Playstation network. You cannot add people to chat parties without putting them into a text chat? That is STUPID as hell! And now I cannot see ANY of my friends chats if I am not in a text chat with them? This is the worst update & will RUIN the online gaming experience!
Everyone I spoke with so far [14 people] have said they will NOT purchase a PS5 & will switch to XBOX if this issue is not fixed!
Another thng is text chats should be able to be moderated! If i have a chat with friends & one person gets mad then they MASS ADD ppl to my chat its ruined!

No need to invite an actual person and ask them to leave. Just create an alt account, add it to your friends list then invite your alt to have a solo party.
This update is horrid. Friends list and party chat is moving slower. Worst of all, the party chat requires creating groups with your friends to join. If you join said group it automatically sends an invite to everyone in the group. Do I need to have everyone in the group for them to join on their own later when they log in?
This is very reminiscent of Discord's call software and it's atrocious.
Can we please have the the PlayStation party back to how they were. I’m talking about when we were able to name are party choice either or not to make it private or public. When we had the option to limit the party of how many player can join! The the new way of the party chats are cool and I like the idea but not to get rid of the original way of joining party chat.
When I mute someone it cause Either we playing on different games or we don’t wanna hear that person. That player still being able to hear me after I mute them defeated the purpose of muting the player. On top of that if I block someone and one of my friends have invited that person not knowing I’ve block that person, they are able to still join the party? And talking/hear me. Again defeated the purpose of a function.
This new update cause a lot more issues I’m the kind of person who feels alone when removing the ability to see what party are open that were on my friends list had a party open. If I made a party and as I waited for someone to join my party oh let’s play this or that.
Now we have to message people then invite to a chat when we had the option to just join whenever as long as it was open chat. If we are in the middle of a match and someone wants to join we have to stop are game to invite that person in.
Everything was okay so give the best reason on why we can’t have the party chat back how they were especially if next gen console is around the corner!
I 100%agree , worst update ever , after 2 days i had 25 parties with exact same people in i had to delete them all and going into friends list to invite or you leave current party is just stupid . if its not broke dont break it.
@Slicknsly You agreed to it when signing up to the terms and conditions of using the console and PS Plus. You can try to start legal proceedings against Sony, but good luck with that.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
