Topic: can this nook usb wall charger charge dualshock 4?

I heard that the DS4 needs/uses 800ma (0.8amps) and that some wall chargers will burn out the controller

This particular one has the word 'nook' on it and the label says:

Input: 100-240 VAC0, 15A 50-60hz
Output: 5v=0.85A

I'm not an electrical engineer, so this jargon is difficult to understand. I just want to be sure I won't kill my controller before I try to use this.

@Zandrick You are fine to use that charger. that's 0.85 amps so is 0.05 more than the 0.80 the ds4 asks for. But it's fine the PS4 actually outputs 0.9 amps to the DS4. I'm unsure of the safe zone before the ds4 starts burning up inside but it's likely to be anything over 1.0 amps if I was hedging my bets.

Anyone who ever looks at this thread and is worried. If your charger outputs at lower than 0.8 amps you should not use it as the charger will break due to the workload. Also newer mobile chargers with a quick charge mode should be avoided as the charge at 9v compared to the recommended 5v which will wreck the ds4.

@Zandrick honstly you best bet is to use the cable that came with the PS4 and charge as you play or in standby mode BUT if you can't do that buy an official charging dock

what's better, spending £15 on a charging dock or spending £50 on a new controller because you damaged your current one using a random plug?
