Topic: Router shows PS4 is connected but PS4 not recognizing a connection

I have a Netgear Orbi with one satellite.

A few months ago I bought a PS4 Pro and moved my old PS4 into a different room. Ever since then, most times when I start the PS4 it won't connect to the internet. I've gone through every solution I could find online: booting into safe mode and restoring defaults; changing the DNS server; typing in the name of my network rather than letting the PS4 detect it, etc. Sometimes these seem to work, but sometimes simply restarting the PS4 works, too, so I'm not convinced any of these "fixes" are helping.

What's really odd is that I see the PS4 as a connected device to my Orbi network. So the PS4 is connected, but the PS4 doesn't know it. And when I go to Set Up Internet Connection under Settings, nothing happens. Whether I select Easy or Custom it just gets stuck on this screen and I have to reset the PS4.

I have a Roku and laptop within a few feet of the PS4 and they never lose connection. What in the world is going on???

If you got weak wifi signal (I assume you use wifi) on your PS4 other equipment as laptop and so on can interfere with the PS4 signal so it drops the connection.
Try removing anything that might interfere and see if that helps. Could also be that your PS4 wifi is about to die. My OG PS4 has a really bad wifi these days if placed in our bedroom on the upper floor. The Pro - no problems whatsoever.

If you have bad wifi you might need to check your home network and the signal strength on the wifi.
Might be that you need a better router too, hard to say over the internet.
