Hi. Anyone help me?
Got a portal recently. Only about 330 games showing in menu, should be 2800 or something?
I realise there are two menus, with a library one, and available games one. As I say, maximum 300 games. I'm a life long playstation player, but with how complicated Sony has made all of this now my old brain has just gave up. I thought everything you can stream in ps5 PS premium, you can also stream on portal? Thanks
@Rubberduckhoppo18 only a selection of games are available to stream on the portal and your number of 330ish sounds correct.
Alternatively download any games you want to play from Plus to your ps5 and you can play them on your portal via remote play
Hi. I know you can stream 2800+ games with just the stand alone portal unit. They've opened that up now with a new update. It's just that mine is only showing 300
@Hypoxia2010 yeah I know that thanks. I'm just wondering where the 2800 or so games are on my portal. With a ps premium account, it should be playing all cloud games from ps premium. But it's only showing 300. Anyone know why they aren't showing? You get the 2800 games free to stream now, with simply a portal and a premium subscription. No ps5
@Rubberduckhoppo18 what I mean is that number of 2800 is including games you can purchase and then stream. PS Plus doesnt have anywhere near that amount of games on the subscription service, so I think you may have got confused with total streamable games and those that are on ps plus.
Ok thanks. Yes, I've just been reading around 300 rotating games. OS plus has always been complicated, but throwing the portal into it as well has about finished my understanding of it. Least it's working, and I'm just discovering tlou2 🙂👍
@Rubberduckhoppo18 It sounds like you’ve figured it out, but yes, you have two types of games you can cloud stream. Under the cloud streaming tab on the Portal you’ll see two tiles: 1) streaming games from your library (you own them or have them claimed them from PS+) and 2) streaming games on the PS+ Premium catalog (which is a rotating collection of games).
The 2800 number comes from the number of games that Sony has made streamable. So you’d only see that many games on your Portal if you actually owned them all. Under the PS+ tab you’ll see the 330 games on the PS+ Premium catalog.
Just to make it a little more confusing— once you stream a game from the PS+ catalog (like you’re doing with The Last of Us 2) you’re going to notice that the game will now be included in under the “streaming games from your library” tile also. Once you play a PS+ game it gets ported over to be on that tab also, even though you don’t technically “own” it. So if one day in the future Sony takes TLoU2 off of the PS+ Premium catalog, the game will still show up on your library but if you tried to stream it then it would be locked, unless you do actually buy it.
Also, you probably have noticed this but presently you cannot access the PlayStation store to buy games from the Portal. If you want to play, say, Resident Evil Requiem via cloud streaming on your Portal and were ready to purchase it, you’d have to purchase it elsewhere like on the website, on the PlayStation app, or on your actual PS5. Once you do that it will pop up on the Portal on your library.

You just solved a mystery, I couldn't figure that out either. I thought it was sanctions, I was running a VPN but could never do it that way then I'd try on the UK site and it did work. To make thinks even weirder I could swear I purchased a game on the Portal before, unless I already had it on Plus+ or something, or I assumed I could because I can on the Steam Deck.

@GirlVersusGame The Portal doesn’t have the ability to make the actual transaction directly from the device, but you can search for a game on the Portal’s search screen and when you click to buy it then it takes you to a QR code where you then have to use your phone to actually make the purchase. So there’s no Portal storefront per se, but you can start the process by a direct search for a particular game. In my case, since I have the PS App on my phone, when I scan the QR code it opens th app and takes me directly to the purchase screen for that game in the app.
At least that’s the way it works here in the States and I assume it’s similar everywhere else.
