Topic: PS5 Bricked?

Yesterday I turned on my PS5 for the first time in a few months. It powered up but nothing happened on screen. Then, after a few seconds it made a quick triple-beep. After another few minutes of nothing happening, I powered it off and restarted it. When it restarted, it prompted me to recover the database, which I did. When it restarted from that, again, nothing happened on screen. No three beeps, this time.

I tried booting into safe mode and tried:

-clearing the cache
-Rebuilding the database
-updating the software both by download and from USB
-resetting the console (option 6 remove data and profiles - factory reset)
-resetting the console (option 7 reinstall system software from USB)

The first four things didn't make a difference but seemed to complete with no errors. The last one didn't seem to work at all. It's like it's not finding the system software on the USB (even though it found it OK when just doing a software update earlier).

I would have hoped that a reinstall of the system software would fix it, but it's not working. Is this a known issue? I have no idea how it got bricked. Does anyone know how to fix it? TIA.
