Hello. I recently had a problem with a weird creaking sound coming from my ds4 controller. After searching everywhere i found out the problem was with the inside of the controller, the part where the controller sticks to each other. I unassembled the controller and put some vaseline on that part and now i dont have any problems. Question is, is it possible that my ds4 controller could catch fire because of that vaseline? Thank you
But no, no way will enough heat be generated from the controller to create an ignition. And even though Vaseline is petroleum based, it is not actually flammable. It may melt at 99F/37C though so a realistic outcome is that the original problem may return.
