Topic: “No Signal” When Connecting New PS5 to TV

Hi, so I have received a ps5 for christmas (ordered online from walmart around black friday) it’s been here for about a month but i’m just getting around trying it.

It seems like there is a problem connecting to the TV, I tried 2 different HDMI cables on 2 different TVs, my old ps4 is working just fine on both. The ps5 seems to be powering on correctly and the TV seems to recongnize there is something plugged in (otherwise the HDMI option wouldn’t appear when switching the input) but all i’m getting is a “no signal” message. There is nothing else displayed on screen.

Am I missing something? Am I missing an extra step I should be doing since the console is brand new? I’ve already been through all the troubleshooting I can find online. What should I do?

Try using the same PS4 hdmi cable with the PS5. There is a possibility that the cable is defective. If that is the case and you have hdmi 2.1, you need to replace your cable with a new one having 2.1, otherwise, you won’t be able to take the full potential of the ps5.
If you used the same ps5 cable on the same tv that the ps4 was working and still the ps5 is giving you no signal, so there is something wrong with the console itself and you need to replace it.
Hope this helps.
